Well Control for Underbalanced Drilling (UBD)*
This course assumes that candidates have a good grasp of pressure-control principles as well as rig and workover operations. To be eligible, candidates must hold a current WellCAP, IWCF, IAWC, PITS, and/or MMS certification in Conventional Drilling Well Control. 

The curriculum for underbalanced well control addresses the fundamental concepts and practices of UBD; UBD techniques; downhole calculations for UBD; detecting surface control problems; UBD equipment and rig up; accumulator & surface - testing and maintenance; bottomhole pressure control; trips, completions, logging and connections; pipe "light" calculations and operations; complications (Supervisory level only); IADC UBD tour report; site management issues and simulator training (Supervisory level only).
