Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) | ||
|
Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) is natural gas that has been cooled to minus 260 degrees Fahrenheit, the point at which gas condenses to a liquid. In its liquid state, LNG is a clear liquid with a density about half that of water. This volume reduction permits cost-effective transportation of LNG over long distances. Australia’s energy industry is at the beginning of an era of momentous change, with multibillion-dollar investments aimed at supporting domestic consumers and pioneering the development of coal seam gas into liquified natural gas (LNG). Chevron is the world's largest producer of geothermal energy, a renewable resource that captures the natural power of steam from the earth to generate electricity while producing almost no greenhouse emissions. Chevron's geothermal plants in Indonesia and the Philippines produce enough energy to power 7 million homes. Visit Chevron’s website to discover geothermal and explore steam power. Gorgon Project – one of the world’s largest natural gas projects is being operated by Chevron Australia. The complexity and sheer scale of Gorgon is unprecedented.
